Surprise on my way to Eagle Viewing

I had no idea this was going on. I am on this backroad in the middle of nowhere trying to get to some eagles I have spotted under the 280 bridge and this is what I heard , saw and then decided to film .

Because Inquiring Minds Want to Know.

Yesterday, well actually daily now for the last couple of weeks, I have been closely watching 2 web cams. One is Panda cam from the zoo in Atlanta. If you follow the link by clicking on the panda cam picture, It will take you to the site. Lun Lun's panda cub was born at 4:51pm Eastern time on Sept 6.

The other cam I am currently watching very closely these days while I await a new nest of eagles to be born at Shepherdstown W. VirginiaWhat you didn't know I was Eagle watching? My oh my, well you have lots of catching up to do LOL. Follow the link embedded in the italicised words above. And when you finish that Homepage if you like waht you see thenfollow these words to the Tribute page. The littlest one called "Spunky" by those of us who watched these three hatch grow and fledge, will lead you to a Tribute Page written by many of those who also followed this beautiful journey. Go ahead take a look, you are going to miss something pretty special if you don't take time to see this.

Back to the other cam I am currently watchingA beautiful Peregrine Falcon in Brisbane Australia, who also has 3 eggs due to hatch any day now. Yesterday saw an extremely dramatci event when after sitting faithfully on these eggs for 33 or so days, 65 mile an hour winds blew this bird off her nest. There is a video clip here where you can watch the extent to which Mother Nature at times challenges a young bird family, as well as the extent to which a young mother Bird will go to protect her young. I hope you will follow the link to Frodo and Freida as well.Remember they are on a much different time zone than we are. The camera is on 24 hours a day, but actually becomes light enough to see fairly well, about 2 pm..central time.

OK well now I am going to the Marina to walk my dog/s. Then out back to mow the yard. No pictures or links for those 2 exciting events. Although exciting things can and do happen at the Marina at times. Go here and scroll about 1/3 of the way down the page, well unless you want to enjoy my beautiful Grandbaby, and a couple of other fun places. Then just enjoy the whole page.

OK well I know you are either bored or busy by now. so do have a good day wherever you go!!!!

We will all Miss you Lady Bug

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This morning I went to answer my phone and it was my son. I knew immediatley by the tone of his voice that his call was to tell me that...

Lady Bug has passed on over to Rainbow Bridge in the early hours of the morning August 8, 2006.. She will be sadly missed many who came to know and love her in her lifetime. A devoted and cherished member of the family and wonderful canine companion.

From "Bug" to Tom Jr.
We may not be together
in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by
a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me,
we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow
and listen with your heart.

A very special trip I took the summer of 2006 was out to visit my daughter and her family to celebrate the Dedication and Birthday of Elia.

There was time one morning for just the 2 of us, and " Dream of Olwen" was my request.

One of the things I miss the most about my children being grown is the sounds of their growing years around the house. This is one of the "Wonderful memories I have of the little girl who moved mom off the piano bench by the time she was 3.

It wasn't my fault!!!

All I did was go to Walmart to get some groceries, dog food LOL and other items to prepare for my upcoming trip this week to go to visit Elia and her Mom and Dad, and there they were!!!

M&M's now comes in White Chocolate!!!! I so love white chocolate. They were the very first thing you passed (well some people passed) right after getting their carts. I knew I wouldn't remember to think about it and come back. I knew I wasn't going to chance getting them on the way out. Right into the cart they went!!!

Notice It says LARGE...well that's not my fault either. There were no other chocies there except Large!!! I tried some tonight as I was busy packing. They are every bit as good as I knew they would be.

6 months same as cash!!!!

Today I went computer shopping. I tried not too, I really did. Almost made do with a windows 98 from a friend, but I couldn't get online with my dsl on that computer without adding lots of memory and of course there is the XP thing and all my software. My camera and how it transfers pictures to a computer, and all that other stuff I like to play with that takes lots of memory.

Well my laptop was very special to me. it belonged to a friend I lost to cancer almost a couple of years ago. I will miss my laptop, and maybe in a few months I will try to have someone rebuild it, but for now, it is a new tower. I could get a tower with lots of hard drive, memory etc, for about 1/3 of what it would have cost me in a laptop. This weekend, in addition to typing up a paper for some Continuing Ed. I have just finished, I will try to vist some of the BLOGS I have gotten behind on.

Memorial Day weekend

Actually in spite of the fact that yesterday I went to bed most of the day, felt about as crummy as I have felt in a long time.  I even missed sitting in front of the TV to watch the Indy 500.  Somehow hearing the noise and watching those cars drive around in circles just wasn't going to work for me yesterday.  I did go out back though and had cut a huge bouquet of Peonies and a few Irises to take to the arsenal for my husband's grave, but was too sick to go.  They remain on a table in my sunroom at the moment.  It is once again in the 90"s and very humid so even when the crowd's from the celebration go home I am not sure I will get the flowers over there this weekend.  He is not there anyway, But I do like it to look like someone still misses him a whole lot, and also appreciates his service to our country; especially on a day like today.  His grave right now however has the flag that all of th veterans have.  They all look beautiful, and the cemetary there is always well cared for.  In my heart I know I celebrate and appreciate his service on this day whether or not I can get the flowers there to say so.

Then this morning I finished fixing up the sunroom so I can enjoy watching the garden area and all the critters who frequent my back yard this itme of year.

I realized I needed to make a post to my BLOG...I have noticed I actually have some viewers from other places in this world...that is so neat.  I still have a little trouble though getting my friends to visit the BLOG, somehow they just don't think they can do that.  It's too technical or something, but as I have said before , I am definitely working on this. And of course since I'm not near as cute as Elia, the motivation isn't at all the same. LOL  (((friends))))  Ummm that is a cyber hug  for the technically challenged  :-)

I also went to the "Dashboard" of my Blogger account and decided to learn how to email my new posts directly there.  now if this works well before I go to AZ for Elia's birthday, why you all  (that's redneck talk for people down south) ...like my son....  anyway You all just might actualy even get a BLOG post while I am there celebrating.

Because my curiosity is killing me  I also want to see if there is any chance of getting a picture to the BLOG directly from and email post like this  so let's see what happens.  I think I will send a neat picture from all the eagle watching I also enjoy online.  If it comes out it will be the eagles in Virginia who are working on "fledging" this weekend.  They are beautiful, hot and hungry.  They flap their wings like crazy but don't quite have the courage yet to leave that nest.  The parents stop by a couple of times a day now with 1 fish for all 3 to share.  the idea is to sort of starve them out of the nest.  The parents circle them with food lots during the day, trying to lure them away.  Let's see if I can get a picture posted of them.  If you get the picture, this is one of the few times when Mom has dropped by with a fish.

Month old eaglets I also love to watch live on my computer.

These are one month old baby eaglets on Vancouver Island British Columbia.

Many times this week I actually went to

The backyard...I warned you this could happen. I spent a lot of time working around a patio area under my pergola, and also freshened up and planted a new shrub out front.

Here is the loop of my yard.

This weekend I trimmed everything up nicely and got my camera. Here is not actually the finished project but a good sense of how my yard looks this spring. I love my time in the yard. Notice in the loop player the Irises. They once were cared for by someone our family knows as Paw Paw. Actually he had a fatal heart attack thinning out his Irises one year. I have moved them here from our original home in Springfield. They are doing very well in a part sun part shade location. Tom Jr is attempting to grow some of Paw Paw's Irises in Georgia. I'm not too sure they like the sandy soil and higher water table. We shall see. Eventually what will probably happen is a container garden in GA and AZ with irises in them, as I don't think Becky is going to have any better luck in the hot dry desert of AZ either.

Speaking of Becky, the clump of daffodils in the picture are for her, and the smaller but very pretty single daffodil, yep that one is for my sweet grandbaby girl Elia.

Special memories sit in the front of the patio area. A boy with a bird, a girl with a kitten, and a raccoon that has moved everywhere I have moved since Loraine church. My kids need to actually remind me if they think the raccoon actually lived in Oakwood first. I am not sure on that one but it did live at Loraine...well you know, beautify our property there.

Even the Eagles have to wait on the Lord

This is a video of a pair of eagles who did everything they knew to do to prepare a place and bring their young into the world. But their eggs turned out to be infertile. If you listen you can hear even the eagles disappointment of no young "this time".

And in His time He makes all things beautiful. A different young pair has new eaglets and is learning about all the hard work of caring for and raising.

Just in case this post has made you feel sad, this last video will make you chuckle I promise.

And as you parent.. be sure you give them roots to grow and wings to fly. Then you will have done a very good job indeed!!!

And finally an answer to all that hard work and good parenting LOL Don't forget to click on the bold type in this last section. It's short but definitely makes it point.

Where I went on Saturday.

Well it's 12:30 pm and I haven't made it to the back yard yet LOL, but I did go to a wonderful eaglecam site . It is a nice size picture and also has those wonderful eagle sounds and baby eaglet sounds that I love. I have the volume turned up so that I can actually go to other rooms in the house and not miss any really fun action. You see My watch dogs are also great listeners. They quickly alert me to a change in pitch coming out of the computer and then I head Northeast to a beautiful lush green spot called a lounge chair and I stop to watch and listen to the eagles. It is actually a wonderful way to enjoy some of my time off. Here is a shot of Brunch at the nest

My Grandbaby's BLOG

Just in case you haven't seen the Blogger BLOG"S before, and are wondering if there is anything here to keep you up on "How is Elia" She does have a Blog here that I started back in Feb, about the time we, well at least I was going a little ditsy over all the wait, and had to find MORE things to keep busy to pass the time! Even though she has finally made it home to her Forever Family, there are lots and lots of awfully fun times ahead, and maybe even a few come alongside and pray for her and/or her family, so be sure to keep an eye on here too.

Some Great advice

This post is Thanks to my friend Kathi who doesn't have her own BLOG yet LOL

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
FOUR. When you say, "I love you," mean it.
FIVE. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye.
SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
SEVEN. Believe in love at first sight.
EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.
NINE. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
TEN. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.
TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.
THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?"
FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk..
FIFTEEN. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze.
SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson
SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.
EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.
TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

No nap!

Well after working this morning, and with cold wind and rain outside, I decided it was a good day for an afternnon nap. If you've read any more of my BLOG you know I have 2 pretty fun little dogs. They do NOT like to share however. Now that I am gone so much during the day, if I have a chance to sit or curl up on the couch, they are BOTH right there. Dexter climbs to the arm of the sofa, and practically sits on my head. Daphne climbs to the top of the sofa and falls quickly down onto my shoulder. Sleeping (well trying to anyway) is like balancing two little dogs precariously , and hoping they do not fall onto me, each other or crash and burn on the floor. After about 30 minutes I gave up and got up. I have lots I could be doing inside this weekend since I worked so hard outside all last weekend. But first, a nice cup of hot tea, and you guessed it, probably read a couple of my "friends' BLOGS.

Well actually the friends I actually know do NOT have BLOGS yet, but I will be working on that. They think one of two things, 1. They are too busy, or 2. They are too technically challenged. Like I said I AM WORKING ON THAT LOL

I have several pretty fun cyber friendly bloggers, or is that blogger friendly cyberfriends, or Blogging friends I haven't met yet...yep we'll go with that one. They have some neat BLOGGING going on much of the time. Watch for them to leave a post here, click on their names and go visit their BLOGS. It's fun, it really is.

Do NOT hit next BLOG upper right corner!!!

Well unless of course you don't care what kind of site you end up at. NEXT BLOG does NOT mean my next BLOG. It could be anything from anywhere, and has nothing to do with "on the go with Glo" so let's dont go there.

While visiting some friends I've met along the way I came across this BLOG yesterday. Kind of wonderfully fun couple also on that International adoption route, who found this sign to take care of things when Mother Nature calls. Good Luck with that one!!!

Or just the picture in case you don't see this for a few days, then look here.

Stay tuned and you will learn lots about people who are "BLOG gers" and the many kinds of journeys they take.

I am off to work, on a Friday no less. That is a long "technical" story. LOL

this is an audio post - click to play

Wherever you go...there you are.

Right now I have to go to work LOL, but I figured since there will no longer be routine posts about Elia's adoption journey, it is time to journal my own journey on a day to day basis. I go lots of places, sometimes as far as the backyard. Sometimes I am alone, other times I have friends or family along. Many times I have one or both of my fur kids with me. So you never really know what this BLOG will be about. Just about me, oh and maybe you too. I might just go to your BLOG sight and decide that was the most interesting part of my day, and you will discover I wrote about You!!! You'll want to know what I wrote about you, so if I were you I would subscribe to this BLOG and be in the "know" of where , when and Who!!!!
Thanks
Glo
